I would assume that the stronger the offer, the more people the ad will attract?
If Smith's Roofing Company were to run one ad that offered a free booklet "10 Inexpensive Ways to Increase the Life of Your Roof.” Then they ran another ad that said call for a free estimate and get a discount of $500.00 off the cost of a new roof. The $500.00 off would get better response because it is the stronger offer, correct?

Interesting concept. Some offers are worth more than others to prospects, regardless of their cost to the business.
With the uncertainty of a huge repair bill, as in roofing or vehicle repair, and the poor reputation of the two industries, which would be the stronger of the two offers?
Personally, the free booklet would appeal more to me, as a potential customer. The only way to tell for sure is to test the two offers. Keep the winner and run it continually.
Often what costs the business nothing is worth a lot to a prospect.
